Taking Naomi Alderman's Women's Prize winning novel The Power as inspiration, this project explores the graphic props and materials needed to adapt the book into a film or tv show. Subverting both gender roles and the shared experiences of women in today's society, The Power follows a series of events following a twist of nature that sees women worldwide with immense physical power. Society becomes matriarchal. The book does not attempt to paint a picture of equality, but gives a warped insight into today's world. Over the course of this project, I produced designs that could aid with the world-building of this narrative were it translated to the screen. Examples include propaganda material, journalism and political campaigns.
